Dizzee Rascal - I Luv You
Taken from Dizzee’s amazing and classic first album “Boy in Da Corner”.
I’m at the stage where I could just keeping putting variations of punk up on here and be perfectly content with myself to a degree, but I OH NO, I couldn’t do that you! (im assuming that you is more than Jared on his laptop in the cool lesbian house).
What we have here is GRIME. Grime, simply put is British urban music that started around the early 2000s I believe, as an offshoots of UK Garage club music (I’ll post that later, its cool). British rap you’d say, but its a lot more than that. Its faster for one, but generally its just…grimey-er. Ha. This documentary from MTV on Grime is great for an intro course if you’re more interested. This track isn’t the best example of the basic tenants of the Grime sound, but it is certainly one of the most popular and one of the first breakout hits into the mainstream.
